My latest find, a doubled die reverse on a 1976 clad proof Kennedy half dollar. I found this half in a roll of 76 proofs from Ebay…roll searching can be a lot of fun. CONECA (James Wiles) just listed it has a 76PR DDR-001. Larry Nienaber
John Wexler had reported finding a strong spread on a reverse years ago…I had been searching for that die for about 10 years now. He has it listed as a WDDR-001 and shows it in his book, “Treasure Hunting Franklin and Kennedy Half Dollar Doubled Dies”. Mine is the first one that has been sent in to CONECA and I got the listing. Man...that's really tough to see with the naked eye (at least mine). No wonder I haven't found any DD's yet.
TomCorona…I think anyone who looks at, or collects, or searches for die varieties and doesn’t use a microscope is just not serious about it and is wasting there time. Larry Nienaber
You could have a point. I don't have the time to look at every one through a microscope, so, I guess I'm not serious. I have siliconed 3 magnifying glasses together though (10x,8x,6x).
