Because you took such an excellent close-up image, I'm pretty sure it's LDS. The EDS version doesn't go completely across on the top of 'S'. Images from VAMworld... VAM 4 EDS and LDS
Hey Toad , that would be great iif yours is the EDS , by th way what does EDS and LDS stand for , I've had Van Allen and Mallis' Comprehensive Catalogue and Enccyclopedia of US Morgan and Peace Dollars , since around 1975 and this Thread has really got me interested in them .rzage
Early Die State Late Die State Leroy Van Allen supplies yearly updates to the "VAM Book". Don't know the exact count, but I think the last printing of the "Comprehensive Catalog and Encyclopedia of Morgan & Peace Dollars" only has half of the known VAMs.... and many have been revised. He also has many attribution guides. There are also several "lists"... Top 100, Hot 50, Top 30, Hit List 40, SuperCD (clashed die).... and the Top 50 for Peace Dollars. Lots of other resources too. I find the Atribution Wizard CDs very helpful and informative.
Here's a VAM-7: http://cgi.ebay.com/1882-O-Morgan-Dollar-VAM-7-Top-100-BU_W0QQitemZ320386521300 I think the price is cheap. :thumb: Ribbit
Thanks , yep in my book there's a little tag that I never sent in for updates mine says for updates for 1977 , I'll have to put the Attribution Wizard in my favorites as soon as I find it . rzage
I'm suprised nobody grabbed it yet. For some reason the pic looks off, really gray. I am imagining things?
Here's a list of the VAM Book updates, attribution guides, and prices- link Some of the Attribution Wizard CDs- link I'm not advertising to sell anything. None of these are mine. Just links to available documentation.
I'm starting to think the same thing. :goofer: I keep finding them all over the place and snabbing them cheap. Ribbit
