1898 France 5 Centimes

I picked this up today. Part of this mid life copper fetish that came out of nowhere. These cost next to nothing... but they're super cool in my opinion.

I like big copper and bronze coins too. I have a complete year set of French 5 and 10 centimes from 1870 to 1920 or so. There are some other mintmarks for a few years and I don't have all of those though.

 

I like the design of these also - both the 5 centimes and the 10 centimes. In some way, they seem cluttered, specifically the reverse. But for coins in say EF or better condition, it becomes very attractive. The French have produced many beautiful coins.

I agree. It seems to me these were all produced with a weak strike as well.
