I think I got a decent deal on this one (spent $64). Pretty good details, might have been cleaned (not sure though). Opinions of value/grade, etc?

From those pics Imo it looks like it has been polished.

Yes - looks dipped and probably whizzed. And $64 is a good price for an 1836 in this condition. I think, not sure, it is an O-108 R1. Just my opinion.

Most definitely been clean in one way or another. Detail is nice but cleaned.

Nice , I'd say most of these older coins have been cleaned at one time or another , and even 30 years ago they were telling people to clean their coins with a baking soda paste , works good at cleaning but highly abrasive and definately a no can do today .

It looks much better than the 1829 bustie I bought today for 65. I would buy those all day for 64!

Thanks for the feedback folks. :smile
I suspected it to be cleaned. It's alright though, I think the coin still looks cool and has exceptional details. A decent example that didn't break the bank.

It looks as if it has XF details, but has been polished (or harshly cleaned). As such, it is probably "worth" about what it sold for. But, for that price, I'd rather have a nice, original example with a bit less detail.
