Polk Dollar rolls will be offered from the Mint today starting at noon eastern time. Anybody gonna bite on this one? I'm kind o' locked in because I've collected rolls of the dollar series (Mint Issue) since the beginning of the program. One thing is different for this issue though. This time I opted to sign up for a "subscription" on these coins. Got an e-mail yesterday stating that the Polks were "in stock and reserved". Seems I won't have to be hovering 'round the computer come 12PM. And before anyone states it, yes I know, I'm a bit loony collecting these things but hey, I'm havin' fun.....:smile
hey green, is there an issue with collecting the presidential dollar series? Other than maybe not being a great investment item. thats not really my objective with these. Althought, i am rather new at this, i kinda think they are rather cool. The ones i have are bu and a few proofs. Any thoughts welcome. somethings you collect because ones simply likes them
Therein lies the rub ljpitre, most folks don't think that these will ever amount to anything investment wise and ya know what? They're probably right. Us so called "modern" guys have to be content on just collecting what we like....:smile
I like the presidential dollars. I've gotten three of each cover series, most of the rolls, and three of the proof sets (not counting the others that I'm getting in the clad and silver proof sets). Saving them is fun.
The Mint has already sold about 28K Polk rolls from each mint. Why such a fast sales clip when the Tylers sold 30K and are languishing in the bargain bin? Makes no sense to me at all. :rolling:
