I am lost on this. It is a new type to me. I'm guessing it as a Gordian III minted in Nicaea. It was very corroded and I can't do much with it. Some help appreciated.
It’s kinda neat. Most of these reversed were of Severus Alexander. Also, is that a radiate head obverse? Very interesting
Here's mine with my efforts at attribution: Gordian III Æ 18 (c. 238-244 A.D.) Bithynia, Nicaea M ANT ΓOPΔ[IANO]C A, radiate, draped & cuirassed bust right / N-IK-AI-Ε / ΩΝ between three standards decorated on top with wreaths and Aquila. RG 716. SNG von Aulock 653. (2.17 grams / 18 mm)
This is pretty neat! Although Sev Alex's Nicaea issues ranged from laureate to radiate, it appears that Gordian III (at least the wildwinds examples) are 100% radiate.
