Ok, between the 2006 reverse proof and the 2008 with the 2007 reverse, which one do you ultimately think will be most popular and valuable in five to ten years from now? And please tell me your reasoning as well.
It will be the 2008 with the 2007 reverse. I say this because I have one and that is what I want to happen. Seriously though I would expect this to be becuase the mint can make a reverse proof at their whim. The other can happen again, but doubtful. Also there is a whole group of collectors that collect any error/mistake the mint makes plus a lot of ASE collectors have this coin or wish they did. Am I right? I have absolutely no idea except this opinion. The '06 is a very beautiful coin, unique in its way.
Could not have said it better myself. personally I like the look of the reverse proof but I don't think that will change the public view on order of priority.
I think the 2008 with the 2007 reverse will be the more valuable coin...but I would take the 2006 reverse proof over it because it is cooler.
The '95W has done extremely well. But, are you saying it still will "grow" in value from today on a percentage basis as much as the other two?
I agree with Elaine, but I would like to see the 08/07 increase in value just because I have one. All three would be great to own. Bill G :smile
On a percentage basis I am not so sure. It is down significantly from it's highs but I am not so sure it will go up more than 50% where as the others mentioned have room to grow a couple hundred percent and still not catch up to the priding of the 95W.
The much greater scarcity of the 2008 Rev. 2007 will weigh in its favor, unless the collecting community and price guides ignore it, in which case the reverse proof wins due to greater demand.
I can't help but think that the 2009 Proof maybe in their also. I have a feeling that the mint may not have been able to mint as many as they would like to with the issues of all silver going to the bullion coins. Could be wrong we will have to wait and see. I'd like one of my feelings to come to pass and be right for once. But until than you are right on elaine.
Only problem with the 2006 Rev. Proof is, there are still lots of sealed cartons of 10 that haven't even ht the auctions yet!! Lots of owners felt they would be BIG winners and appreciate more later, hasn't happened!!! I have a few of the ann. sets and they are probably one of the best ever put together by the Mint, IMHO
