    MS66+ No FS

Attractive coin with very strong luster, too much chatter on the cheek and jaw to get a 67 IMO.

Beautiful lustre. I am at MS 66* No FS I think the mouth/cheek/ear areas keep it from higher. Lovely coin though

I went 66 NoFS (as Nickels aren't my forte, I've given up on figuring out the TPG's FS designation for now), but meant to vote 65. I don't like the chatter on the reverse, and the scratch on Tom's head is too noticeable to let it go to 66 o better IMO.

There was 49% of me that almost went "Details" because of the scratch :panda:

    67. No FS. Beautiful coin, with clean surfaces and subtle, but lovely color. The slash kills the FS designation.

66 Not FS ....I again debated 66 vs 67 but went conservative due to a few minor scuffs (probably too conservative)...the black spot under Unum on the reverse is also slightly distracting for a 67 (to me)....the steps have too many breaks to even get to 5....overall a nice coin with a pleasing hint of color

In my mind it’s a carbon spot from a 67, meaning I think that’s the true technical grade. They’ll keep it at a 66+ for their market, I think. I’m assuming the plus is tantamount to icing on the cake.

If it was all about strike and luster I would go 67. As for the contact the two dings on the steps are distracting, combine that with the few light marks on the cheek and jaw, it loses a full grade IMO.
That carbon spot though is a big distractor, and it would always bother me. I went 65+ not full steps. The ding between the 3rd and 4th pillar could still be intact, but the carbon spot that blend3, 4, and 5 steps is a no go on FS.

I was thinking 66 but may have gotten 67. I don't think it made FS. Bad nic is taken across the first 3 steps. I do like the looks of it, even enough to think it may have gotten a + for eye appeal. Nice Jeff Paul!!

MS65. Not sure what to think about the field behind the bust. The reverse spot keeps it from 66 or a plus.

Good job guys, this coin has immaculate surfaces and IMO, it looks better than many of the MS67+ grade Jeffersons I have seen. The carbon spot on the reverse and I few minor ticks on the jaw where you would normally see planchet roughness are the only flaws that can be seen without magnification.

I think it is one of your nicest coins, in terms of eye appeal. The luster is super, and it has really beautiful color. The + grade would not have surprised me.

So that's a die crack on the top of his head? In the first pic i thought it was a scratch.
