Wouldn't the Lafayette Dollar and Isabella Quarter be their own type since they are the only commems of their respective denominations?

    Don't worry, Jefferson it is!

Hmm, very interesting idea. I have one question: is there any chance that you would expand your criteria for qualified articles? The reason I say this is because a recent post by Noost reminded me that the Nellie Tayloe Ross collection is at the archives here where I live and I was going to go have a look around it. Would you be willing to open your submission to this type of article as well (as long as it deals with her years as director of the Mint of course) or just coin types?

You have to understnad that I'm trying to avoid the articles from becoming show and tell posts like much of typical cointalk. Those show and tell posts are often informative and nice, but I'm digging for something more substantial.

After researching it I will accept a Nellie Tayloe Ross Collection article despite that not being a type.

I'll also accept the Lafayette if you include the French and American versions equallly, as a type.

If you do all the Columbian in detail, I'll accept that as a type. Also, wasn't there a world-wide coinage?

Is there a specified legth on the article? (1 Page, 2, pages, 500 words, 1000 words?) Once I know that I may very well give this a shot if for nothing else than the publishing credit.

    Requirements:
Each Article is to be submitted in its own new thread!!!! with an original title that must start with the words: "COINTALK JOURNAL SUBMISSION:"

Each Article should be at least 1,000 words... - I have a tool to count the words (that should be about 4 pages?? in US Letter print?)

Each Article's copyright is default shared by Cointalk, You and I. I aint getting into any copyright wars.

No multimedia...that is for another contest (20,000 posts ?? )

All the articles MUST be on topic: Coins, Tokens and Paper Money

ALL ARTICLES MUST BE IN TEXT or HTML FORMAT. Don't post a darn pdf or image.

One more question about formating: is there any particular style you want it in, especially citations? I use Chicago, but I know each journal usually has a specific requirement.
