I ventured out to the coin store today and brought home about 600 coins. Here's some highlights I wanted to share, plus a few with questions.

First the mysteries. The first one is 1723 and from Russia. I think it's a 5 kopek. If so it seems like this could have been a great buy, even with the unfortunate crack. (it was a few bucks)

Next I believe is from the Papal States. I'm not familiar with this coinage at all. I see the name Pius and some Roman numerals but they're not all there. I think I see Baiocchi which I know is a denomination. Little help?

Third one I think is a German state, possibly Westphalen, but I haven't had a chance to do research. I think it's from Napoleon's time.

Fourth I just know what was written on the 2x2: Portuguese India, 60 reis, late 1700s/early 1800s.

Here's some more from the British Isles. The 1687 Maundy threepence seems like quite a good buy. It was a few bucks also. I know the middle two are Conder tokens but nothing else about them. 1687 britain threepence.jpg 1794 feathers half penny.jpg sheep conder token.jpg 1889 guernsey 8 doubles.jpg

And I won't leave out South America. 1824 Brazil 10 reis, 1854 Buenos Aires 2 centavos and 1880 Nicaragua 10 centavos.

I like the Guernesey coin mostly because I really liked the film "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society".

I like the Guernsey coin for its look. Besides, I've always liked the 8-doubles pieces.

The Nicaraguan is neat, too. And the Nazi Potsdam Church piece. All neat stuff.

Thanks! I think the Portuguese India coin is the 1 tanga though. It's crown sized.

Touche. Most of them I'm intending to resell but some are new to me and some are upgrades. I'm not getting out of the coin collecting hobby, just redefining priorities.

Great haul. I used to find accumulations like that at local coin dealers. Unfortunately, I've not come across such a group in years.

Yeah, the coin shop is a bit of a drive so I only go once every three months or so but I take the day off of work and spend about five hours there.
