Hello all. What are your thoughts on this 1919 off-center struck Lincoln penny approximate grade and value. Thanks all.
I got this from a quick search but I would check online sales from ha.com and ebay also . 1919 off-center penny — A coin may be struck off-center when it shifts or is misaligned during striking. Errors involving a strike being only a bit off center (say 1% to 3%) are pretty common and carry little, if any, extra value. But a 1919 wheat penny struck 5% to 10% can be worth $10 to $20 or more.
Nice off center wheatie. I call it a VF35, not my field but after looking at some Ebay sold listings I could see it going for around $30.
Thank you. . I love this site. Post something and you get an instantaneous response, answers and info. So glad I joined
It’s a real prize, @Eric the Red. Find me another that old, I’d think one would be hard pressed. Don’t let that out of your collection.
wouldn't this be considered a broadstrike? Obviously the collar is involved in both but what specifically is the line from broadstrike to off center?
Thank you. Yes alot of them were my mothers that were passed along. I also collected for several years earlier on in life. Along with purchasing quite a few large collections last year. I am enjoying going through them with my son. Thats why I joined CT. So we could get an idea of what's what from people that know more than us
