I like 4 and 17. I thought somewhere in another thread someone said it was an american flag? not the one in your link but a flat, even one

LP-17 is cool, we need more eagles on coins.

I really hope that flat American flag NEVER makes it onto coins circulating or commem. it's such a weak, sad design.

The story a few days ago was the Commission on Fine Arts recommended the American Flag design. I don't think the final decision has been made yet. Anybody up for a letter-writing campaign? Coin collectors are the one niche group in this country that possibly cares even a little bit about which design is chosen. A few thousand letters might sway the final decision if they're all uniformly negative about the choice. Of course, agreeing on one of the other designs is going to be much harder :)

A web site that I was on the other day showed LP 13 as the design that was chosen. I have no idea if this is truth or fiction but it is what I saw.

Disregard my last reply, went back to site, that just happen to be the design they had pictured. I should learn to read first post later!!!!:rolling:

I heard the picked the flag. A big mistake if you ask me. I also like the LP17 Eagle design.

Only from threads I saw over at CU with links to articles from places like CoinWorld. Not sure if it is the final choice but it seemed like it, with the mint being the last group that had veto power.

I think the two shield designs (LP-13,LP-14) are pretty good or the LP-17.

I heard the Commission of Fine Arts picked the flat flag, which is a mystery to me. Why a commission on Fine Arts can pick the worst proposed design is beyond me. If they want a flag, why not the waving flag?

I ought to be on that commission. I could do a better job. Maybe I'll apply.

If the 2010's are going to be hoarded like the 2009's, they should just let collectors pick the design. Nobody else will care what they look like if they will never see one in circulation! Just venting at my ability to get the '09 cent varieties without buying them!;)
