I just got my results from NGC for a submission made last month. The first was kind of a letdown, as so many of the v75 eagles have been graded 70. No such luck for me. But the last three made up for it. You might have to be a type b quarter nerd to appreciate it. 2020 W Eagle S$1 'V75' PF 69 ULTRA CAMEO 1956 TYPE B REV 25C MS 66 1956 TYPE B REV 25C MS 66 1961 TYPE B REV 25C MS 66
All it takes is one tiny little nick in the frost to knock it down to a 69. Just because others are graded 70 doesn't mean that all should grade 70.
Not really. I only have 1 coin to submit so signing up for a membership isn’t worth it. I have to find a dealer who can submit them. It makes things complicated.
I have an ANA membership. You are automatically a member of NGC. However, there is a $10 handling fee along with a return postage rate of about $25. That's on top of the economy tier which is $22. The more coins you submit, the more it averages out the handling and shipping charges. Although, if you make a 70 grade, it makes the submittal worth it. Mine coming back a 69 makes it worth about as much as one in OGP.
Ah ok yeah I guess I shouldn’t risk it then. I haven’t even taken mine out of the capsule but I can see tiny hairline scratches when I tilt it in the light under magnification. That’s probably enough to get the 69. I don’t know how they got there though but they can’t be seen with the naked eye or if it’s not tilted correctly in the light.
What if I give you a coin to grade? Are you going to guarantee I’m always going to agree with it? Same thing here. You want to buy a label, think of it like that. All they’re saying is, they’re behind the grade with their label, and no more.
