Ok, stupid question time. I have several rolls of uncirculated state quarters, circulated state quarters, and presidential dollars. I may have to part with some of them and I hate the thought of taking them back to the bank.

I am afraid if I try ebay I will lose money after all their fees.
So I guess my question is, should I try selling them here or just bite the bullit and take them to the bank?

    Thanks for any input.

Tough call. I used to have a couple hundred dollars in rolled Bicentennial quarters. I saved them even though I knew they would never be worth a whole lot. In a pinch, about 15 years ago, I needed their face value in cash in a hurry. So I took them to the bank. It hurt simply because I put effort into searching for them for many years, and it was all gone POOF like that.

If you can, save the unc ones.

    are you kidding? Spend these.

as for the rest, offer them here.

Any better states, or just the usual common stuff?

Uncirculated rolls of state quarters will definitely sell for a premium on eBay. Seems worth a try to sell these.

    Spend the circulated ones.

I think there are none that are better than others. From a design standpoint, the eye-appeal and attractiveness of some states are "better". From a "which ones will be worth more" standpoint I don't think any of them are rare.

I would save the unc state quarters that others are ruining with stickers and stamps. AKA the Illinois and the elvis state (tennessee? can;t remember what state that is).

If they are UNC coins pulled from circulation I'm not sure you can get more than face even on e-bay.

If they are bank or mint rolls of some of the earlier states you might get a few dollars extra but after your time and fees it might not be worth it.

Try offering them here at face value plus shipping so they can at least go to another collector.

If there are no bites then I guess the bank is your last resort.

Take a look on ebay. I'm not personally sure about this, but I think several in BU are a premium like the GA, TN, and IL. This may not even be fact, and at the same time there may be others selling at a premium.

I see some of the earlier ones (Delaware & Georgia) are selling for double face value on E-Bay.

List what you have in the listing section and see if you get any bites.

    Thanks for the help.
The circulated coins will probably go to the bank. I just stashed them away as a way to save money anyhow.
When I get a chance I'll have to go through my bank rolls of quarters and dollars to see what all states I have.

I think I have most quarters since 2003, and the first 6 presidents.

GA, TN, IL quarters in unc. rolls are asking for premium by some coin dealers who advertise is Numismatic News. GA is $40.00!? Call ahead as I believe it is a ten roll minimum. As for the President Dollars, perhaps you can look for edge errors in the lettering, then spend the rest as with the circulated quarters.

........check them to see if any are in the cherrypickers' guide and if you have a mule then spend the rest.

I agree, definitely offer them to collectors first before dumping to the bank!!!!

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll see what I have and list some here first. I would much rather that collectors get the unc rolls than the bank.
