Howdy peeps, I saw this: http://cgi.ebay.com/1907-Barber-Half-Dollar-90-Silver-Coin-Ring_W0QQitemZ320408916989 And thought Doug might like a ring with his birth year on it. What say ya'll? Ribbit Ps: Doug's gonna flip that I got 10 credit points for this post. :mouth:
That's a great idea! Ribbit Ps: I'm also getting extra credit points for each reply to this thread so Doug's gonna kill me!
That was sorta my question here: http://www.cointalk.com/t65212/ We's starting to think alike! Ribbit
That's a cool ring, there was a guy who would frequent the local coin shop here and pick up Barber halfs in bulk to make those rings. He even has a patent on the process of converting them.
Gonna getcha for that Toad I will admit, that is the first good use I have ever seen for the ugliest coin design there ever was. edit - I was just informed that I get 10 extra credits for every Toad I squish
I don't know. I had a guy on ebay make me one out of an 1892-O quarter and he said there were three of them on ebay making them.
He wrote out the process with photo's of each step and submitted it. The coin shop thought the patent was a novelty and had a blow up of it to show me.
Depends on the age of the Mod. The older they are, the more they can get away with and in Doug's case, he's been around so long that he can get away with pretty much anything. Ribbit Ps: Doug's gonna squish me for this and get 10 points for doing it.
LOL Doug has just made a withdraw from your bank account....you are now in the red owing coin talk! Hey but I did buy one of these by another seller who made them as a POW in WWll . Had him make me a 1954 Franklin...turned out very nice. I still wonder even thro I have read how they are made ...how they do it!
