    Hello,

I just picked this up last night and am curious what fellow collectors think about a grade?

It looks possibly VF to me although the wheat has nice detail. Looks like it also might have been lightly cleaned?

Thats a tough one to me. Based on the pic's and the wear to the upper stalks I would have to say fine at best. But, I have often times seen coins such as this where there is more detail when looking in hand.

If those wheats are complete, it might make F12, but my guess is that they are not complete and the coin will go VG10.

    I agree.

Looks a lot more like a F coin than a VF coin to me.

I would agree with rlm's statements on this coin. Grade would depend upon the Reverse's Wheat Lines. Maybe you can take another photo showing just those wheat lines up close.

It has been awhile since this coin has seen a VF condition. :)

A solid VG and it looks like no more.

    Sure it's not an MS-20? ;)

Funny story, I paid $40 for the coin and left the sellers place happy, then the next morning, he calls me and says "My friend told me that price was much too low and I should get the coin back"...Kind of dumbfounded, I went ahead just because I'm a nice guy and realized I had overpaid.

    His original price....$100

I just let it go and figured there wasn't any way I was going to get through to him as his 'dealer friend' obviously knew more :hammer:

Nice date, but no better than F-12. It shows fresh rub as well....the patina is missing with fresh copper showing. Wouldn't call it cleaned, just rubbed.

If the wheats were stronger, it could go VF with the cheek/jaw seperation on the obverse.
