Well friends as promised here are the images of the completed Star Note Set of Series 1934C...the $100 was not made for the NY District.

It sure took a long time...the $20 note here is the High Serial Number Note listed in Schwartz/Lindquist 8th Edition and is also the "New Back", number of notes printed was ~36,000. According to pop reports no "New Back" have been graded at PCGS currently. PMG reports 4 graded but does not show wether they are the new backs or not!
It has been sent off for grading.
The lowest graded note in the buch are the 64's...I am hoping for at least a 64 on the $20 as the margins do not warrant a 65. The EPQ tag should come with it as it;s embossing is wonderful.

Hope you enjoy seeing them all together?? The $50 is the key note as mentioned before.

    Thank you everyone....

Until you lookup the population reports on these Stars, you can't fully appreciate the rarity of these notes. To have the entire set from this or any District is truly a task with a lot of luck (right place right time) involved.

My wife just came over to see the pop reports and to see what I was consumed with...LOL she said, "so when are going to sell them"?

4 years in the making..lol... I think they will will hang around for quite some time to come.

I am very open about my collection with my wife actually. One of the things I fear more than anything else is her being uneducated.
If I were to meet my own mortality in a sudden fashion, I sure want her to know what she has and not give it away.

That is why I try to record everything I do, from who and where the note came from and how much it cost! I would advise all of you to do this as a measure of preservation, if the event of sudden/surprize demise!

Just think about Dealers who have to charge for their time, well we as collectors are no different, we spends hundreds if not thousands of hours of research finding and acquiring these notes. All of our collections have their own unique fingerprints so to speak.

My notes may not be the best available, but at least they are among the Top 10% in most cases. And that in itself is a valued item.

    Hi Lou....

Can you believe it? That was a long haul for sure. Hours and days of searching and wham!! Right before your eyes  it appears. For a fleeting moment your thoughts are how can I get this...who will bid it up?

When talking to the person who had this $20, I told him that I scan at least 10-15 sites daily and that yesterday (what ever day that was when we spoke) that the note was not displayed then. He replied, I just put it up an hour ago!!

That is the kind of searching you must do...and when you find it, you have to commit. I sent an email saying I want to buy this note, please.
After a nice conversation, I learned that it had been hidden away many years ago and was mis-marked in an envelope as a 1950 C.

Talk about luck....and for it to be a NY note, all I can say is fate has a funny way of working out sometimes.

The $20 has been the show stopper up until a week or so ago.

The $50 is ultra rare and was taken from an auction at 3:00 am with no one bidding against me....that note I stole..in a manner of speaking.

So thanks Lou for stopping by...and to everyone else as well. I have a few other targets in sight and will wait out the game again in the not to distant future.

    Regards,

    RickieB

Ummmm a thought just enterd my head.... Is this really a complete set?

Since the $20 is a "New Back" does this mean that there is an "Old Back" 34 C * out there some where? If so and if any of you have any info on it's location, I would appreciate the help! I hope it is not another 4 years!! I can't take it...the searches are exhaustive.

    Indeed it does...LOL I just broke out the S/L 8th Edtion..pg 233

Only 166,199 according to the SN listed....:crying: :crying:

So indeed the search continues...:crying: but until I find it, it's still the only almost full set known!

As for the Mules...no not really but if they come along, why not?
All I need on the standard issue is the $50 and $100

There are just 2 known graded notes (at PCGS)....one in a 63 and one in a 64.
    Will check PMG later tonight.
The 63's centering os off on the reverse but these are scarce and will command a hefty premium...
