Very nice coin I wouldn't buy a coin like that raw its either a quarter or a half dollar I.D.K about grade and value but I would pass is that a die crack second star bottom left.

Well, for $53,000, I'd expect it to be slabbed by a reputable TPG.

It was a half dollar, and it looked like a die crack to me. I don’t really know much about this coin and would only purchase it if it was in a slab. I just have never personally seen one of these and got to hold one in my hands.

Yow. I agree that it deserves a slab, but that's impressive.

I also think it needs a slab. No way would I buy download.jpg it that way . If it's over $100 , I want it graded and Authenticated . Dealer or No dealer . $53,000, that's crazy .

Insane to be trying to sell a coin raw for that price. Guessing there's something that would make it a details coin

Greysheet lists that coin in VF-20 at $50K. The obverse shown looks better than 20. It is really inconceivable to me that anyone would offer this coin for sale outside a top-two slab if only to broaden the potential market. But if I was in the market for this coin, I would only consider buying it raw if I got my own expert to authenticate it and ensure it would straight-grade.

Anyway, it's cool you got to hold it and I'm sure your Mom is proud that your fingernails were clean!

I wouldn’t even do that. I’d tell them to submit it and if it straight grades at what they have it as I’ll buy it

zIf nothing else it’s a good test to see what kind of dealer you’re dealing with. I would be very suspicious if they refuse.

As you stated. A coin like that has to come with some authentication.

I've never seen a price like that on a cardboard flip--never.

Run the other way. Only a problem coin of that caliber would be raw. No way it isn’t a coin with issues.

Oh I wouldn’t buy it first, I have no knowledge of these types. And second I could imagine dropping that kind of cash for a raw coin. Lol

VF seems a fair generalization on a piece like that, it has details. But yeah anything over 1000 dollars on a coin IMO should be in an official slab just in case I'm not slightly overspending on a coin. On old rare ones like this, even the slightest notch up in condition makes major differences in value.
