1937 Penny Error?

Hello everyone. First post here and brand new to the hobby. Excited to learn more. Was looking through some of my coins and came across this 1937 example. Searched extensively for similar possible errors/variants but could not find any. Any ideas would be appreciated. My apologies if this is much ado about nothing. Still learning.

The coin is damaged. It took a hit there sometime between 1937 and 2021.

 

+1 still its a wheatie and a keeper not an error.

 

Welcome to CoinTalk. As already stated, it is PMD Post Mint damaged. Something hit it in its 80 plus years in circulation.
