This 2005P is one from Bu bank rolls I have. it is a DDR tree's # I not sure I think Wexler & Potter have 6-10 die variety's listed.but maybe not this one obverses
The date looks like a die was polished to much and got rid of the 5. But the rev. does look like it has doubled trees. If it is the real deal, good find!
The obverse was struck through grease. The reverse shows no evidence of doubled trees other than the machine doubling.
Here some better shot of the trees. but I look at the limbs and to me they look like die cracks more that doubling.I know for sure the coin on the bottom(B&W in slip) was graded by Anacs and came back as a MS-64 strike thur& DDR and the both have same extract reveres
Hi, I'll be the first to change my response if I can see the extra portions of trees that you are trying to show. The images provided are just too blurry to make anything out. Try to get a few more clear pictures of the spots needed to identify the coin. Thanks, Bill
Yeah I agree with Frank - looks like there is doubling on the mountains and islands etc... seems like machine doubling to me too...
I will find the DDR # and so on. but the area I have marked is what thought to be a die crack.I know the person the die variety is attributed to and next week or sooner I will post the variety#
My good camera died which was a Pentax 10mp now I am using an older Pentax 3.5mp I not sure when Pentax will repair & return the 10mp
I would love to get better at identifying these errors. I have spent a lot of time on my pennies that I have totally neglected my old nickels(and new).
I would say t's a doubled die the images do look raised.A greased filled die on the 2 Jello good one JC
