Nice coin, not a fan of the "crusty" look on these coins.
Toning kinda odd, but hey if you like it...

Congrats on your first slab. Start an NGC registry set, you may never get to the top, but it is fun to compete with others :)

Nice coin! Congrats. I agree you should start a regristry set.

Cool!! I don't have a slabbed coin yet either but I should get one within a few weeks I'm thinking. I had a chance to get one already and I didn't, I took the raw instead. I guess I was feeling old school that day. :D

That is a beauty. Congats on your first slab -- probably won't be your last.

I think some coins should be slabbed and MS silver dollars qualify. :thumb: I've bought many slabbed coins (less than MS) and I've freed all but one and it's an extra of one variety I already have and I'll eventually sell so I left it in the slab, since I'll be selling it. ;)

    Nice pick-up! :thumb:

    Ribbit :)

Based on the photo I am imagining with a bit more light it is not as crusty as you might think and that the toning is more of a light gold which beats blast white. :)

One good thing about buying a coin in an SGS slab, all of them will be 70's.

    Very nice!!! WTG
Having slabbed coins in one’s collection is a nice addition. What’s important here is the fact that you made a conscious choice on broadening what to look for when shopping for a coin. Since you have been collecting for years and all your coins are raw. How would you evaluate your grading skills to the slabbed coin? Were you right on, hard on the coin, or generous with your grade? Knowledge is power, the more you have, the better your chances are in realizing just how many good deals the market has today.

    ....it's somewhere in between?

I actually know a guy who got a PhD in Math for trying to define how many #'s there can be between 1 & 2!

He finally got past his committee only after he PROVED there are more #'s between 1 & Zero.
