Picked up this Bronze 76mm diamond Jubilee Anniversary of the American Numismatic Association Medal—1966. It was packed in original sealed packaging and box. Only 3,000 were minted. For all of us member numismatic professionals, and hobbyists, it is a rather meaningful issue. I took a picture of it propped up against my computer, as it is so large (3” in diameter). Going to get a lucite stand for it, and put it on my desk.

I see that it was designed by Frank Gasparro. Mr. Gasparro also designed the medal for the 1969 ANA Annual Convention held in Philadelphia.

    Funny Story
I joined the NGC Collectors Society in 2005. It was the first time I had ever joined an online forum. One day, I mentioned that I saw this 1969 ANA 3-medal set up for auction, and I really liked it. I placed a fairly high bid of $150, thinking that it would guarantee that I won. When the auction ended, one of the other NGC members beat me out by $2.50. Some of the other members got really mad at "Hoot" because he was thought to be a pretty good guy. I defended him by saying that "He wanted it more than I did." Less than two weeks later, another of the 1969 sets was listed at auction. I guess the owner figured that it would sell for a decent price. I was determined not to lose this time, so I placed a bid of $250. When the auction ended, I was the winner at $51. In the end, Hoot saved me $100, and we became good friends.
