I occasionally see buffalo nickels with an odd colorations. Brown streaks or as in this case a muted yellow color. Is this toning, improper alloy mixture, or something else all together? (I do see light conventional toning in front of the nose).
That's toning, and I agree with @potty dollar 1878 - in this case, it's attractive, rather than "discolored". Of course toning can be either attractive or ugly, depending on the eye of the beholder.
hey Dug13 that's a really great picture of your buffalo nickel and yes i believe the toning started in a holder. I've seen different coins tone in different types of holders. all the coins above my post are really nice coins, great job guys. good luck to you all
