EE870427-A215-4170-8DE8-FDB277B47A85.jpeg Hey y’all looking for some insight. First off I’m newbie here but learning have been roll hunting for a couple months now. Picked up a box recently that is half full of these original mint roll nickels. My thought was to look for some high mint state fs nickels to set aside. I’m questioning if I should continue. Would you all continue to look through them? Throw them in a drawer for 20 years? And what’s anyone’s opinion on how this toning that every roll has effecting grade. Thanks for any replies

I don't think toning ever affects grade

you can try to sell on ebay or something. people have been dumping those more and more frequently because almost everyone and their grandmothers saved a roll

If you find any 2009s, definitely keep them. They're pretty scarce. I've seen them going for $20 a roll. They had a much lower mintage than the norm, and I understand that many of them were sent to Puerto Rico, that's why we don't see very many.

Ya I see a few selling for like 3-4$ a roll surprisingly but that’s almost more hassle than it’s worth imo but always an option I suppose. I’m just afraid that ms 68 fs nickel is in there ha

The FS grade was left way back. I don't think it applies to modern nickels.

I suppose you’re correct if we’re talking high ms. If it’s high ms it’s almost certainly fs. Although there’s a few examples on pcgs of high ms without fs. I appreciate your replies like I said still learning and there is much to learn ha

Which 2004 do you have? The boat or the handshake? The handshake has a DDO associated with it, so if you find that you have some in high grade, they'd be worth a pretty 'nickel'.

I like the rolls themselves. Toning does not affect the grade.

There was less of the 04’s 2 rolls of boat 2 peace. I lean with your thinking probably end up searching everything I’m too curious to find “that one” coin. I appreciate the reply

    First off welsome.

I absolutely love the tone to these. I find these in bank boxes all the time. Obviously from somebody cracking the rolls. When I find them I always keep them. Must got thousands of these over the years.

Don't care! You can never have enough of these beauties!
