What would these grade? Send to PCGS or NGC? The IHC has a ding toward the "I" in the AMERICA. This )coin has not been messed with by me. Bought as is. The 1927 has a very slight rub on the cheek you can only see with a loupe (this is digital macros at 4x). I understand if people think the IHC would BB
eh...the whole reason IMO to send to PCGS is the get the 65, Vs 64, where the 1point difference makes a monumental difference in price. I would hold off for now on these, maybe the IH, but I would hold off on the wheats
I only paid like 20ish for the 1927 and 40ish for the 1897, I like buying coins and submitting them. It's fun, but I don't like the fees.
I do not see how you could submit the 1927-. That is a 63 RB (outside shot at a 64). It is just not worth it. As for the Indian, I kind of like it, not that I am an expert either on Indians or toning. I think it could get a 64, but I do not know what they would do with the toning.
I can definitley second that! I love the wait and surprise! Do you submit yourself or through someone? Nice coins Boss. I really like the lincolns, thanks for sharing.
I submit through my dealer, Snaz. Thanks RLM, oh great Lincoln expert! I guess I could buy a 65 RB and be better off for the 1927. I do like the 1897. Interesting color. It has turned more blue since I have owned it a very short time (one month?). I didn't put any oils on either.
Boss, all I see is what looks like a spot under the "I." If you want to send it in, either TPG, I'd go for it. If they BB it for that, let me know, I'll get my friend Guido after them.
It is very interesting to see what others are getting back from PCGS. This really has high points and sadness for the recipients. Pick one at random and pretend it is yours! :goofer: http://www.pcgs.com/membership/Shared.aspx?Year=2009&Month=7
I think I must of put coin Care or something, and now I can't remember (honestly :headbang:. It found a first time photo and here's the color. It really did change:
Take a look at this poor guy's results. geez nice dates and rare....and even a 86 ( did they number the no decision that for fun? 86 the coin! http://www.pcgs.com/Membership/sharedorder.aspx?OrderNo=20318113
Whoa, those pictures are a big difference! Now I'm wondering what that says about the others we've seen with the former type toning; is that look now "suspect?" I'd still send it in...if, for anything, on the theory you need to know...
I would save my money on the IHC. If it turned that quickly more interesting colors maybe coming. Interesting seeing the orders, but without seeing the coins it is hard to judge.
The IHC has a look like MS 70 but more natural. I definitely didn't use that. Just Coin Care and compressed air.

What is coin care? I like the color on the Indian but both PCGS and NGC lately have been giving a lot of questionable color designations and not grading them.
Coin Care is a solvent based product for copper with oils in it. Removes surface debris. Many use it and few will admit it. Doug would probably consider on par with coin poison. Ok, I might have exaggerated! I don't us on full RD coins as they can tone.
Neither one is worth submitting. The 1927 would go 63 rb at best and the IHC would get a genuine. I really don't like the way the IHC looks.
