Fake or "no decision" at one TPG and OK at another??

I am sure genuine is a choice. Just call and ask to confirm. What they do is cover everything on the holder, but the coin - then send it to the grader.

I thought I did answer, but OK. No, they were not personal experiences. I've never submitted a single coin to any TPG in my life, never had a need to. They were reports related to me just like your's was. I thought I made that quite plain with my response.

And please, don't read a tone into my words that isn't there. I provided what I thought was an honest and straightforward comment to your question.

Just curious, is it that you don't like the problems being listed on the holder ? Even in a Genuine holder the problem is still listed, perhaps not 3 of them though.

If you just preferred a PCGS slab because you like them better, that I could understand. But since the problem is still going to be listed I don't see what difference it would make. To each his own I guess.

Thanks, but please read more carefully and don't misread my words. You say "They were reports related to me just like your's was." My earlier post said "The two examples I mentioned are real-world personal experiences."

Is I was right and you were wrong, Na, na ,na na na.

It was widely rumored that one (in)famous TPG slabbed a 1916 D dime and the "D" fell off and was rattling around in the slab! If true, that is concrete evidence that fakes are occasionally slabbed.

By the way, I believe coins like '16 D dimes are more carefully examined due to the large number of fakes. Do you agree?

I would much prefer a coin in a PCGS Genuine holder with a coded reference to one fault than a slab that says "corroded, scratched and bent". Wouldn't you?

I didn't misread anything. Your questions to me and my responses were as follows -

Now I really don't understand what part of my response to your question directly above it was hard to understand, for doesn't this quote make it obvious that it was hearsay, which exactly what you asked -

" Just like you related your story, others have related theirs."

but apparently you did not understand for you then asked -

To which I answered for the second time - " They were reports related to me just like your's was."

So now you tell me - just who is misreading what here ? It sure doesn't look to be me

    No.

But then if I was the type of person that was going to try and sell it to somebody eventually and hoped to possibly gain more money by keeping them unaware of the full truth about the coin, then yeah, I guess maybe I would.

But I cannot imagine any other reason for wanting to do so.
