Hi - this Morgan seems very smoothed over relative to the other Morgans I have. Is the value really only the value of the metal?

    Thank you in advance,
    James

It is still a better date coin with San Francisco mint mark so is worth more than melt value. 1,497,000 minted

It is low grade, but it is nice enough that there should be buyers that would pay over melt.
And a little bit better date. $25+, I would say.

Thank you, and thank you all for your responses. There's an exceptional wealth of knowledge here! These coins have sat in my basement for 8 years...and now I'm starting (and enjoying) the learning process!

There are people who specialize in well worn coins in their pursuit of collecting. This is also done with U.S. commemoratives. To the right person it might be worth a premium over melt.

It should bring a small amount over melt value.
