I've been looking for this date, grade, condition for over 6 years. The only other 1 I saw and liked was priced at $900 when gray sheet was $600 and that was about 18 months ago. When I see it they are all around $700-$750 but I got this for less than $500. Only 1 more coin to have the entire set in MS-64 or higher and be PCGS graded.

There is a mild black spot going across the reverse of the coin but it's not on the coin. It's on the slab. The coin does have a slight light brown toning, mainly on the obverse. The reverse is a brighter white than photos show.

Yup and in higher grades it's difficult to find, as this one was. The 1927-S is easy in lower grades but in MS-64, PCGS it's tough. I'll not over pay.

It's the journey as you know. What are your plans after that?

Congrats. Closing in on that completion milestone is awesome.

Now, taking into account that it took you six years to find this specimen, if we extrapolate the numbers, massage the market, consider the loss of coin shows, ponder the availability, and review the pricing trends, I figure sometime in 2047-2048 the final piece of the puzzle should surface. ;)

Best of luck in the homestretch of your quest.

I had a line on a nice gold coin but bought this instead as I have the gold coin. There are 2 varieties and I want the other one but this was more important. Only 1 more and my MS-64 set is complete. Then I try to put the Franklin set together, only 6 or 7 coins left in that set, again MS-64 or better, PCGS. Of yeah, FBL is a must.

I'm going with sooner rather than later. Good things come in threes and this is the first. Lol
