What grade do you suspect it would need to be to have value that would at least cover that cost.
Im not asking anything concrete. Just trying to get an idea. Also if it does not have value now why hang on to it.

because its intreasting and its not all about the money i would say it would have to grade 67RD or better to be worth certification

They don't attribute the Floating Roof anyways. Don't bother sending it anywhere.

Let guess 9 ball must be the training couch for the expert in training. I have to give you kudos for consistancy. Thanks for experience today.

Does that mean that if I sent in the coin that would not grade it.

They would probably grade it as long as it has no problems like scratches or cleaning. It would need to grade 67 or better to cover the cost of grading.

There's another thread that shows the coin op didn't have to do a second one.

They would grade the coin as any 1969S they received, but wouldn't attribute it as a floating roof.

A floating roof is due to over polishing a reverse die. While these are minor errors, if you work at it you may be able to find a buyer who will give you a buck or two fora nice looking coin that would otherwise retail for 5-10 cents. These arent something that a coin shop or even an error dealer would normally buy, so you have to find interested collectors on your own. I think it would be even more difficult to find a buyer to pay a premium on high grade examples.

FWIW, I posted that image because you didn't post any images of your coin. How do you expect someone to give you a reasonable answer when they have no idea of the condition of your coin?

Grading has to do with the condition of the coin so yes.. But Attribution is for errors and varieties.
They don't attribute a floating roof. You have to pay extra for Attribution!

The floating roof is not that hard to find. Since I learned of it over 10 years ago I've found 5.

Just to add to the fun. Each of the grading services are different. They charge different amounts for the grading and for the attribution. Each service may or may not attribute the coin or show it on the slab label and that is always changing.

The floating roof is cool but not something I would send in.

Grading would cost you way more than that coin could possibly be worth.

Go it. So its safe for to say that if that 1969s was ms 67 or better then thr value of the coin would not change with or with out the floating roof. Correct.
Also if pcgs has 15 coins of a 1234p all graded ms 65 and under and I have a 1234p that could possably grade out to be an ms68 should chance sending it in being the highedt grade of that species.
