Stopped into my LCS after work today and picked up my weekly coin fix. He threw in the Greysheet and the Seated half dime for some help with his coin counter on top of a good price for the rest.
Noice! I see one SLQ, I wonder what year, did you just buy it as junk? Mind if we know the price of that sweeeet Five Eagle? He "threw in" a half dime? Wow, did you stop a robbery or something?
Silver was bought as junk silver at spot, $220 for the eagle and I did some work on his coin counting machine as a favor, I'm a service tech that repairs these machines. He also gave me the old Greysheet price guide.
That's amazing, congratulations and good for you! I've only been in one coin shop pre-pandemic, and it was a place that sells comics, coins and baseball cards, not a lot of coins on display. I am intimidated by coin shops, I buy on eBay and I've bought some from an online auction that some guy has every month on his own (that was badmouthed on Cointalk years ago, lol) - Charter Oak Coins. I've also bought at pawn shops, but I'd love to go to a coin store after I get my vaccination. I just don't feel like I really know enough.
