Here's a 1976 cent could you find the error on this coin. I will give the answer as soon a I get enough people to post there opinion. Thanks and good luck JC
My guess is that this is one of those large size pennies, like the size of a coaster. just a guess :rolling:
The error on this coin is a finned rim and it is an extreme one and Rockdude you don't need the reverse for a finned rim obverse because it ain't on the reverse. These errors are overlooked and some can bring a nice premium depending on how much extra metal is on the rim the kennedy halves are worth a nice dollar if they are to the extreme. Notice the extra high metal on the rim and these are considered errors Mcarney 1173 good eye you won JC
Your first photo shows what looks like a step where you say the finned rim is. Clearer picture would have been beneficial in this 'find the error'. Good one.
Lets see the edge of the coin where you are calling it a fin. You can't tell anything from this picture at this angle. It just looks like a misaligned die strike from this perspective. We need to see the part of the "fin" that rises up above the normal edge of the coin at the rim. Thanks, Bill
As you can see there's extra metal flow on the rim and it's hard to get pics of this error i agree but here's the best i can do the metal is raised above the rim and can be seen by the naked eye JC
No you just have to be more observent that;s all, one person noticed the error in the post so the pic was just fine. JC
Yes the are considered an error and can bring a nice premium if the metal is raised above the rim to the extreme. JC
