I just got an exciting call from my mother. She was going through some of my grandfathers things and found some more coins. I don't have many details yet, but this much I know. One coin is a 1925 Lexington Concord commem, and one is an 1804 cent. The other coins are dated 1795, 1796,and 1801. She said the 1795 said plain edge on the 2 x 2. I am excited to see them, but don't have my hopes up to high.

If I ever get my home pc fixed I'll post pics after I get the coins.

After a llittle looking my guess is the 1804 is a half cent. I guess we'll see

What do you mean: " don't have my hopes to high"? You've got to get your hopes up there in order to deal with what you're getting. We need some photos soon!

After a quick glance at the redbook before I went back to work last night, I decided the older coins, at least, are probably large cents. I saw that the 1795 is listed with plain edge and lettered edge. Thus explaining the "plain edge on the 2x2. I'm not much of an early cent collector (yet) and was not familiar with the varieties..
I knew my grandfather was a cent collector which gives me another clue. I have a pretty extensive large cent collection I already had of his, but the older coins are worn pretty good. I also have his completed indian cent collection and his wheat cent collection complete except the '22 plain.
