I have no idea if this coin is genuine or a modern fake, the subject is very complex and even some experts on this type of coins are unsure.

Next - another one where authenticity is not 100% sure.

 

I'll have to go with my Balbinus. It's very light (3.33g) and appears to be plated. It was an eBay buy, but the coin looked good in the picture. It might be genuine, fake, or an ancient fouree, but I don't know!

An ugly coin I've posted before, but it's my only Otho, so here goes again.

Notes: Sep 4, 10 - Six or seven known, all from same dies.

Pedigree: From the Jyrki Muona Collection - published in "The Denarii of Otho: A stylistic and compositional study" in the Italian Numismatic Review 2009.

A small hole has been drilled into the edge of the coin as part of the compositional study.

Probably provincial, I suspect Pius, Marcus Aurelius or Verus but I am clueless.
