1. FR-2 Draped Bust Dollar with no damage/holes 2. Bremerhaven 5 Marks (Weimar) 3. German New Guinea 5 Mark silver
No its a 10 oz hand poured gold lighter that the wife ordered in to her store. She thought that itd go good with my coins though. Lol
thank you. That was a spinning lighter case that her boss was going to throw away, so i asked if i could have it for my coins. Its still a work in progress.
Wow. I have no idea since I have no idea about you OP. Do you like history? Do you own any ancient coins or are interested? Do you like coins/paper money, or both? Do you like certain periods in US history more than others? Do you prefer silver over copper coins, large over small, etc. I could propose THOUSANDS of options literally. I have collections in a vast array of areas. They interest ME, they may be of no interest to YOU.
Love history, i own one constataine the great coin. Would like more forsure. Owning an ancient, i love wondering what that coins been through the last 1000 or 2000 years, whove they paid. Paper money, i dont have any (lol) but would like to own some from the civil war era, or befor. As for us history, ANYTHING befor 1900. Gold wise.... anything pre 1933... except bullion gold. I like silver bars, but sold all mine mid summer when silver shot up in price. Would buy more. As for gold, copper silver coins, mostly silver, no gold yet, or copper
I would like to have 150,000 wheat pennies! But seriously, I'd buy a nice VF (maybe XF) details cleaned draped bust dollar and then use it as a pocket piece for a few weeks to let it tone back to market acceptible grade.
I'd probably use the $1700 to put A high grade Roosevelt dime 1946-1964 set together. probably like MS67 maybe better if I could works some deals. LOL
Looks like we share a lot of the same holes in our albums! I've been looking for a cheap 1851 Swiss 5 Francs for ages but, thus far, no luck. Which coins are you still missing in your 7070?
The Capped Bust Half-Dime, Seated Dollars, and the Twenty-Cent Piece. Although I wouldn't mind upgrading my Capped Bust Quarter as well.
I would like a decently toned Matte Proof Lincoln. $1700 should do nicely. I just have the one, but I sure would like to have some more.
I would finish the varieties in my Susan B Anthony collection and then if I had left over money, I would move on to the more expensive coins in the Eisenhower coins.
Seated's are definitely hard to find at the right price point, especially if you don't want a holed specimen. I had to look forever before I could find a decent type II for under $175 in G-4.
Take that $1700, Bid on the next 200 1 ounce gold pieces you see. Maybe one will fall in your lap. Just dont wish too much or you might end up with more then one.
I would definitely pick up some more nice Civil War tokens. Kanzinger's price guide seemed pretty close to reality back in the early 2000's, now almost 20 years later, seems like many of the tokens I seek are selling for 4 to 10 times what Kanzinger listed. Conversely, some of my regular coinage rarities have been slipping a bit in value according to the Redbook.
