Found this strange looking dime today. This is my third post and I have no idea what this coin is all about however you all are the experts and I appreciate any feedback you can provide. I want to Thank everyone for commenting on my recent posts. I’ve had tips and learned a few things and loved the comment on a penny I posted CRAPPY LINCOLN.....cracked me up.
Don't worry, Cooper understands. This one looks like it was outside for a while. More recently, it looks like it was scraped by an aggressive roll crimper on the reverse. Verdict? damaged
1970 Philadelphia (had no mint marks). Yours is environmentally damaged along with other damage. Just a regular user coin.
Clad coins, nickels and pennies get this dark look when they are in the ground for a period of time. Most likely found with a metal detector. On your dime, it still looks like some dirt is still on it
No! No! No! It's Crappy Zincoln! As others have said, your dime has undergone environmental discoloring. If you like cupro-nickel coins missing a clad layer, you'd probably like this one. I found it in a $100 Mixed P&D Bag that I got from the Mint in 2004. @Cheech9712 likes it.
