I feel there is a more definitive factor than the “style” of the “2”, in determining the correct date size. There is a drastic spacing difference between the “2” and the rim of the coin on a “small date”, where as on the “large date”, the “2” is significantly closer to the rim.
This is the drastic difference I am referring too. Please correct me if I’m wrong. If I’m not mistaken, if the weight is below 3.0g it is a zincoln, as the zinc pennies weigh a typical, 2.5, or thereabouts. Now, if there’s a drastic difference, meaning the number you’re getting isn’t closer to either of those, you may have something unique.
When you say, "or something damaged", are you referring to damage at the mint, affecting their weight, or post Mint damage?
I have a penny I’d like to share, as it shares the same “qualities” & “appearances” as other “confirmed” doubled die varieties for different years. however, I have no idea how to post photos, or where the correct location to do so would be. Haha. Help?
lol. Where would the correct location be, and how would I go about doing that? I have a dozen or so I'm requiring assistance with?
First, you have to download your pictures to a file on your computer. Once you have them in a file, then you can upload them a thread on here.
