I have two pennies and a quarter, each of different years, but all of the Philadelphia mint, that have "P" filled in. Is this considered an error coin or not?
The filled P mintmark was caused by a minor die break(the raised part of the mintmark on the die falling off due to heavy use) during the striking process, thus causing the P to appear filled. Value is face of one cent, or little premium to collectors of such error.
Thank you for the answer. I'll have to photograph my other coins that I think may be errors and let you all tell me what you think.
