I enjoyed collecting the ATB and Statehood quarters. But I only started about 4 years ago. I don't do any CRH. So for me, the fun was in trying to find the missing ones in circulation and also replacing a lower grade one with a higher grade one I just found. Also, aside from the fun in the hunt, I really enjoyed reading the stories behind each coin. Even my least favorite one, the Effigy Mounds. My ATB collection (all found in circulation) is almost complete! 20210204_221733.jpg

I agree with @JeffC (except for the CRH part, since all my non-hobby purchases use plastic) about the Quarters - I've had loads of satisfaction doing lots of quarter CRH to fill all the holes with the best quality, and hopefully finding W's, silvers, errors, and maybe even Impaired Proofs along the way. And also CRH in the other denominations for the same reason, plus NIFCs - just not as much variety, but all at low cost. Everyone's got their own "thing" that gives them that satisfaction - isn't that what it's all about?!?!

I don't think too many here will ever fill the first binder, which contains most of the classic U.S. issues. Also, the B.O.B. (Back of Book) section which contains U.S. specialized issues like revenues and such can be very difficult. I have the same number of albums but all in the Harris Liberty format albums. Also a Canada album and three foreign Harris Ambassador albums. It was pretty intense collecting in the early years/. I stopped with Elvis issue. At that point the number of issues each year and forward got to be more and more ridiculous. I'm pretty sure @Inspector43 would agree. In the end this was a labor of love for the most part. We would be lucky to get back 30'5 of value we put into this, unless it was collecting classics in the best grades possible.
