Hello all, this one is my almost complete collection of Uruguayan commemorative silver coins, from 1961 (the first one) until 2011 (the last coined) In total, 29 coins of which I have 28...
The "absent" coin is very difficult of find, and his value is high, is the same piece of 1969 $ 1.000, but resealed commemorating the 30th. anniversary of the Banco Central of Uruguay, only 500 coins was resealed..

Te last picture is the "absent"

Cool collection! I especially like those somewhat abstract designs, such as the 1000 pesos FAO coin dated 1969, or the millennium piece from 1999.

I cannot really tell from the picture, but aren't the two FAO coins (top row/second coin from left) and second row/third coin) the same issue? Similarly, the two "20 Years BCU" coins - but I don't know that much about coins from Uruguay ...

As for the "missing" one, hmm. My catalog does not list even list it, just the one with the sun face. :)

Yes Christian, the third coin is the same, but this one is resealed for the 20 years the Banco Central of Uruguay, only 2,000 coins was resealed.

The Krause listed this coin as
    KM# 55c And the 30th. anniversary is KM# 55d

Thanks for sharing. You have a nice Uruguay collection. :)

In the last 3+ years, I've become interested in collecting some Uruguay coins too but I don't know about the commemorative pieces. That's really interesting how they counter-struck the coins for the anniversary reissues. I have a regular 1000 Pesos 1969 piece, and its design reminds me of something both modern and indigenously inspired. But my other pieces are coins, ranging between 1890s and 1940s. There are a lot of interesting designs but I mainly like the silver and gold pieces. I have also been looking for a reasonable copper 4 centesimos (KM13). The current favorite in my collection is this 1893 20 centesimos (KM15) with some colorful toning:

    Hello Seba79,

Nice collection. The presentation case is certainly nice looking.

I visited Uruguay one time in 2010. Unfortunately, it was a short trip because we needed to get back to Buenos Aires to catch flights the next day.

This 1943 1 Peso coin is one of my favorites.

    Hello!

Well, after years of search, finally I obtained the coin that was searching. The 1969 $ 1.000, but resealed commemorating the 30th. Anniversary of the Banco Central of Uruguay, very hard to find, because only 500 coins was resealed. Now, the series this one completes 1961-2015.!
