Well, if so I can try selling to a friend, where I know I can always buy the coins back. Just time to upgrade the set, the coins mean a lot, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do
Well I am selling off my coin collection (all the slabbed coins but 1) to upgrade. I cannot get cash any other way. Well guys lets kinda change the subject, and get back on track, I feel that I hi-jacked Toad's thread!
Gotta do what you gotta do but don't want to see you regretting selling something that you wished you'd held on to.....
Yes I can see what you are saying. I don't think I will regret it, I mean I think the new coin will mean a little more, it is like taking both of those coins, and making them both into one And I was going to upgrade sooner or later, just not me, but all collectors have that urge to upgrade! A MS62 set of quarter eagles will be in my range (except for the 1911D) as I get older, and I can fill some holes when I am at this age. On the morgans I am just trying to get all the common dates I had, in MS65-66, it will be expensive, yes, BUT, it will be worth it in the long haul, having 65-66's over 63-64's
Thay's not a bad way to go , can't you hang on to at least one of the 1/4 Eagles to show your kids and grandkids you have plenty time to upgrade . And remember all 65s aren't created equal wait till you find primo 65s , most of my type coins are 63s and 64s but they look like 65sand up . rzage:hatch::hammer:
I suppose I could, but I really am in no hurry, I think I am getting a good deal, and the coin, and seller are nice enough for me to sell mine and upgrade to one of the ones he has for sale I know all 65's aren't created equal, I can spend hours looking through heritage's completed listings. I compare different coins and prices, and even have a document in microsoft word, with the recent sale prices. I study the morgans and quarter eagles closely, look at pictures, registry sets, any info I can find, I take it in
I wish I educated myself on coins as much as you at your age , keep it up .:thumb: rzage:bow::whistle:
