I use the golden dollar coins at my car washes. Shortly after the presidentials came out I got an unopened box of 2007-P Washingtons that had several damaged coins, mostly shearing near the edges. I have been hanging on to them in case they were valuable, but I haven't seen anything like them for sale on ebay. Do I have anything worth over a dollar?

No, those are likely damage from the machine counters.

I'm assuming you mean machines at my car washes. They've never been in circulation, they're right out of the box. They came out of unopened rolls from a sealed box of 1000. I opened the box and broke open the rolls myself so I know that they went into the rolls damaged.

I'll try to post some pics shortly.

    Hope this works.

I've never posted pics here and it's not very user friendly for me, so we'll see if it works.

Did the blank planchet come from one of the rolls? Any lettering on the edge?

Is this blank on each side and what about the edges? any type there? Are there more blanks also?

No, I got the blank sometime later and there is one more. I assume it is a presidential, but I guess it could be a sac. It wasn't caught as it was unwrapped and has been used at the wash so it could possibly be a sac. Although I haven't bought any sacs for a couple of years there are still some that are being recycled at the washes. It is blank on both sides and has no edge lettering. How common are they, are they worth anything? Any idea on the damaged Georges?

The edge are damage that happened at the mint due to some kind of misadjustment of the edge lettering machine. The coins are damaged somehow as they try to leave the groove in the lettering die. Even though the damage happened in the Mint, it happened post minting and so is not considered to be a mint error, just damage.

Please let us know if that blank planchet has edge lettering on it.

it might be an error. but again it will depend how many those exist. this one might worth less i think.

I have two of the blanks and neither has edge lettering. Are they worth anything?

I have eight of the damaged coins. I'm assuming they are worth about 8 bucks?

My guess is only a couple of bucks. If it had the edge lettering, I think that they would be worth more......

Yeah - last time I saw a Sac. planchet sell it was something like $75-$105. I believe that Fred W. always has some of his website if you check him out.

the rim is upset in the TY2 - that would be what you have.
    What is his asking price?
