I think I made a similar comment about how the mint was going to raise the price on them.

I don't know if the mint has a policy on it, but I don't think they are allowed to sell stuff at below market value. Though if the coin comes in a single lens with the four pennies+dollar and the mintage on the package is only 50,000. It just might be something I buy several of.

So when does this 50k limited edition set come out ?... I've been hearing of it, but can't find it on the mints "upcoming products" list...

Haha, that is what everyone is asking. Elaine has probably got it right, with it coming out at x-mas. I wouldn't make a cash bet that it is coming out at x-mas/December, but I will put a twenty down for it coming out after all the specially wrapped penny roles come out, which sets between October and December.

The big question is what will the markets do to the lincoln set if it comes out at the same time as a supposed 2009 American Buffalo one ounce gold piece? I honestly believe that if they do come out with the buffalo and they don't put a mintage limit on it, then it won't be worth buying but to look at. Which might be worth buying..........

Can someone tell me if there is a draw back by subscribing for the silver set and the UNC set. Besides having to wait the extra time because the mint wants to save me $4.95 shipping by combining both subscriptions. I feel very antsy that maybe the sets will be sold out or all that will be left are the returned sets that have faulty coins. I don't see how they could fill my silver set subscription and hold on to it until the uncirculated set date arrives. That has to take up a lot of space with a sign saying " wait for uncirculated set before shipping." All this is going on while others that just ordered are getting there sets sooner. Am I paranoic?
Also, what will be the final cost including shipping? $52.95 + $4.95 + ??? = ?? THANKS zeke

Zeke, the mint is not going to save you any money on shipping with these two issues. They don't hold the subscription orders and send them all at once. Rather, they send them out individualy and charge you the extra shipping. That's the drawback to subscribing. You get charged for shipping with each subscription item. That opposed to you ordering all of the individual items at once. The only advantage you have is peace of mind that you will get the issue that you have subscribed to.

Greenie, hope you don't mind me calling you that, Nothing insinuated. I wish you were correct but I received an e-mail saying that is what they would do this year. Trouble is I can't find it now. I subscribed May 4, 2009 and my account has not been charged yet. I will check further and see if my card account site has it in there. Will let you know if it has. zeke

Check your orders listing on the US Mint web site. It should be listed there.

No problem with you callin' me greenie...;)

Well, you may have received an email that said that, but I did not. And, I have received an email that says my silver proof set is on the way. I still have a subscription for the uncirculated set when they come out. Is the Mint that inconsistent? Hmmm....

I think you guys are confusing actual shippment of the subscribed item with the subscription itself. When you order a subscription it's treated the same way as if you had ordered a mint product. For instance:

    Product Name Quantity Price
    (each) Total Item Status Cancel [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]PRESIDENTIAL $1 TWO-ROLL SUBSCRIPT QTY 3 1$0.00 $0.00 1 unit shipped on 06/09/2009 [IMG]

That's just an acknowlegement of your subscrition, not an indication that the product has been shipped.

Sounds reasonable to me Greenie. I hope that they don't ship until I get back from overseas anyway. My dogs will just chew them up to get me back for leaving them. :crying:

Well I stand corrected, I think. My credit card has been charged at $57.90 @ 5:30am this morning. But checking my account at the mint there is no listing of it being shipped and also $00.00 charged. DUH, Where have I been?Anyone know whats happening?:goofer:

My subscription shipped as of today, 7/21. The order for the silver proof that I placed two days after the mint offering date still reads "in stock and reserved".

Yeah mine was charged as well, and it still hasn't shipped yet. They did this when I ordered the clad proof set as well. It was awkward how they did it. They charged my card, then refunded my card, and then charged it again right when it shipped. What was the point of refunding it just to charge it again?

The mint always charges your card to see if the card is valid. It never really hits your account, at least not at my bank, but sits in a pending payment account. I think that they are weeding out the people who have a non valid credit card or a fake credit card number.

The US Mint sent me an email saying that my ASE will be shipped soon. Now they tell me that my Silver Proof set has been shipped and lists 3 separate tracking #s. Are they getting Schizoid? (Didn't mean to offend and Whackos we may have here).
I've gots to check out those #s and get back to you here.

The Silver Proof set alone is in transit at Indiannaplois. So, they'll charge me again for shipping the ASE. Maybe next year I'll wait and buy more coins with one order.
