  1. I know I know I know.... Don't clean your coins.... BUT these were so scrwed it wouldn't even matter... So.... I experimented.....

15 minutes pickle juice (not kidding)
    RINSE
    15 minutes pickle juice
    RINSE
    30 minutes (jewelry cleaner)
RINSE and brush with super soft jewelry cleaner brush.

    And these are the results....

    Good for fillers anyway.
Cleaned coins never really bothered me unless it just destroys them.

  6. exactly.... just coldn't stand to see them even if they are just going into the spot silver back.... Although they might be worth like $1 maybe if they were at a VF. One has some pretty good detail left.

If pickle juice can do that to a coin just imagine what it can do for your insides.

the acid in your stomach is way worse than vinegar, you have nothing to fear with vinegar ingestion. Imagine what your stomach acid will do to a coin.
if interested here was a study simulating stomach acid, it was research into how harmful children swallowing coins could be.
    https://emj.bmj.com/content/21/5/553

the one actually the most dangerous is the Zincoln, once the copper is eaten away the stomach has no problem dissolving the zinc and creating a stomach ulcer.

Apparently veterinarians see this a lot with animals, dogs, cats, and zoo animals, due to the way the digestive tract lines up, but in most cases children will pass the coin in 24-48 hours, but there are cases where it sits there in the stomach and causes an ulcer and a zincoln does it much faster and does more damage than the other coins because of the zinc. They hid this information because they don't want parents freaking out.
