Penny dated 197

    Anyone know if a penny dated 197 that I found sometime in the early 70's worth anything?

    I don't. I have a digital camera but I don't know how to take a picture where it actually shows up. Any ideas?

    most likely struck from a greased die.

    Look very closely (use a mafnifying glass) and you will probably see the last digit of the date.

    Nominal value.

    Looked very close and cannot see another number. Can tell it has not been tapered with because the ridge on the top of the coin is a little higher then other pennies and no scratch marks.

    Do you have a 10x, 7x loupe? You can put that in front of your lens and it should help in the clarification of the pic.
