Internet grammar police are absolutely miserable. Spell check and predictive text does weird things with posts sometimes. I couldn't even imagine going around DMing people correcting their grammar, what an awful way to spend your time

But it's irritating, isn't it? Sure it is. And imagine going around all day making excuses for erroneous grammar, that's even worse. Correcting errors is constructive, as it's educational. Making excuses is destructive, as it's, well, making excuses...

I just corrected it. Just for you. Although I will hasten to point out there's a world of difference between a typo and, well, illiteracy.

@mike estes Just curious if you are bothered by the direction taken by your thread?
I have witnessed a number of threads veer off in another direction, even some of mine. I find this interesting and, most times, funny. Your thread is a good example.

    John Skelton Morgan man!

I just give everyone a pass. Having always been cognizant of proper English, I understand there are those who are not proficient in the language.

Got that? But it does make it difficult to read and understand. As for punctuation, it first made its appearance in ancient times when playwrights wanted the actors to slow down, or emphasize their lines. As part of an editing team, I've removed and added commas as I felt were needed. I have been accused of using too many, so it's always something I watch for.

Thought I'd chime in since I have received similar feedback, thank you NOS. I took it as constructive and not negative. If advice helps me improve my ability to get a clear message or thought across, I'll take it. I'd also point out that it was in an email or PM instead of posted for all to see. Seems NOS was being considerate to you, IMHO. What's that old phrase about, ...airing dirty laundry? Now let's talk coins and thanks for allowing me to respond.

The use of comma's seems to be passe.
