nice link and some great info LSM! thanks! As i was reading the article, and looking at the images ... i started thinking how cool it might be to have the stamp 'under' the design... and then !pop! there was a note with such a stamp lol.. true postage stamp currency
Thanks for posting a picture of a note with a stamp. I also have a 1976 2 dollar bill with the stamp posted on the reverse of the note. I purchased my bill in Philadelphia back in 1976. Thank for sharing Mag. Lou
Here's a picture of a Postage Currency Note (First Issue) KL 3215. The note pictured here is a straight edge note. Other notes of the same issue had perforated edges. The notes where printed by American Bank Note Company. The note pictured also has the ABNC monogram on the reverse lower right. The initial printing of the First Issue was released through Army paymasters on August 1, 1862. Picked this note up in Silver City, Nevada. Lou
