Now I'm working with my type set. A Few Coins from My Collection #3 showed an example of the two latest date half cents. The only other half cent I have is this one. All the older ones cost a bit more than I care to spend in a grade I want. Maybe(?) one day I'll get a Liberty Cap.
I like a number of the AU58's you have shown and this is another one. I don't know a thing about half cents but I do wonder if the spot on the reverse would make it a more proper 55. Anyway, I like it and your photos.
Another valid question would be, "Was the spot there when the coin was slabbed?" There's so many slabbed coins in here that puzzle people about the grading. My question could be one possibility.
Nice coin, would love to own it. One question, on the braided hair half cent you showed, it looked like very weak strike for the letters anyway, it looks like the "F" in "OF" on this half cent, is very very weak, is this true in hand?
