OK, head to head: All time record USC 4 wins, Texas 1 1955 19-7 1956 44-20 1966 10-6 1967 17-13 2005 38-41 Seriously, it is an argument you can't win. badabing! Have fun out in LA, it is a fun place. Grew up there in Long Beach....
Ok you football guys have hi-jacked this thread long enough! I think we need to turn this thread back over to the ANA World's Fair of Money..... So who else is going?
OK, My bad on starting the football topic. I apologize. However, good numismatists should have outside interests. And LA is a great place with a lot interesting stuff. OK, so back to the ANA convention - what percentage of the delears are West Coast based?
I just looked at the list. There are dealers from at least 10 countries as well as from all parts of the US going. Over 300 in total. In addition, there are at least 20 mints represented (Austria, South Africa, Mexico, etc) and numerous numismatic clubs and organizations. I will be there for at least two days. We'll have to make sure we get at least one CT get together, looks like there will be a good crowd.
You want to make sure you are at the show 2 if not 3 days to see everything as it will be quite overwhelming for your first time.
I will be coming in late in the week, I am attending a hot sauce convention in Ohio the weekend preceeding this and need to sneak in a day or two of actual work at the day job in between.
Get this, (sorry, Jack, just got to make fun of you here! Kiss) Jack once told me he was really busy watching hot sauce videos on YouTube. That cracked me up! I told him, to me, that sounded like as much fun as watching a coin tone. But seriously, Jack is the HOT SAUCE KING - literally! He has won several awards for his secret hot sauce - I can't remember what the website is, but I hope he posts it so you all can check it out!
OK, I found some of Jack's hot sauce links - check them out! http://www.tastethefear.com/?p=1309 http://www.hotsauceblog.com/hotsaucearchives/meet-your-maker-16-arizona-pepper-company/
Yikes !!! LOL, I sold my company about 2 years ago after it grew over my ability or desire to maintain it. I am still a dedicated chilihead tho. I will have a sort of sauce/coin related suprise here soon tho, only Charmy knows about it at this point.:secret:
Bummer, will have to stick with the store bought Louisiana hot sauce then... pretty much put that on everything :eat:
Thanks for the advice!!! Hi Everyone, I appreciate all the advice and tips that have been provided. I can't wait until the show date arrives!!! I definitely plan to attend at least the first 3 days to be able to soak in as much as possible. I grew up in LA area so the local attractions aren't much of draw. I'm mainly interested in the coins so that's where I'll be concentrating my time!!! Hope to you see you all there!!! Thanks :hammer:
