Don't own any trade dollars but that sure looks fake IMO.

I agree - it does not look genuine. Try to post photos of the coin that are sharp and in focus. We cannot tell much from blurry photos.

Have you weighed your coin? What's the story behind it? Where did you obtain it?

I would most certainly PASS on that one.

Raw Trade Dollar - Strike One.

    Blurry photos - Strike Two.

Let me guess - eBay? Strike Three.

yes you are right, its a 1873 s boy i wanted to jump on it but i seen on here somewhere that the rim of the trade dollar can tell you if it is fake or not.

I'm almost certain it is a copy. The denticles are practically invisible in places; the surfaces have that Chinese frosty look to them. Unless you know these well, I suggest buying one certified from a reputable seller.

Impulse buying of problems is what keeps most collectors too poor to go to an ANA Convention or a regional or state show and buy real coins with real value.

I would say it is a fake. On the reverse, the E in fine is almost touching the berry.

Looks like magnet bait. Most of the fakes are attracted to a magnet. None of the authentic ones are.
