Could someone tell me what the current mintage is for these coins, and your opinions about their long term collectability? Thanks, and I didn't want to re-hash old news but I've been kinda out of the loop for a while on this particular subject.
The latest sales are 69,500. I also doubt the prices rise more than they already have, unless gold goes higher.
With unlimited mintage, everyone who wants one will have one by the end of the year. Thus, in the long term these are just bullion coins, I would expect them to hold a small premium over melt.
Wow, that many already! And I figured this would be one of the few modern issues that would achieve significant growth status. Good thing I don't collect moderns if my predictions turn out like this.
this UHR double eagle gold is a bullion coin. that's it. after offer end. the coin is only worth $900.00 plus.
Agreed. But I looked at it as a very special bullion piece. That's why I don't buy modern Mint items because my opinions are suspect. This is a perfect example. BTW, I've seen the REAL one at the Smithsonian. It's a real grabber.
